Kiki Bakery

Last Saturday, I prepared a great Italian dinner for us. He came over after work and said he would bring the dessert. Shame on me, I forgot to take pictures for what I had cooked for the whole day: lasagna, beef stewed tomato soup, and fried french style green beans. The soup was just perfect!! I was so proud of that soup. He almost ran out for baguette to eat with the soup. Again, French eats baguette in every ways, including soup-dipping. And of course, a delicious western dinner cannot be perfect without red wine so I serve us a glass of Blackstone's Merlot 2005.

Anyway, he bought two pieces of HK-style cakes from Kiki Bakery. Kiki has 4 branches around LA, including San Gabriel, Alhambra, Rowland Height and somewhere I don't remember.

The complementary gift box is very adorable. I was excepted that the cake would be as exciting as the container. However, they both didn't impress me. I cannot taste any rum from Tiramisu. The strawberry moose is better but... ... again, no excitement.

Although the cake menu is a no-no, I recommend its HK/Taiwanese style pastries and buns.
